Conjunctivitis

Symptoms:

  • itchy eyes;
  • red-pink eyes;
  • swelling of eyes;
  • wind frightened eyes;

Causes:

  • Conjunctivitis also known as pink eye syndrome is mostly caused by human-to-human transmission of viral staphylococcal bacteria. Because of the strength of the immune system, some people are more susceptible than others.
  • Another cause of eye inflammation is possibly windy and hot weather, which irritates the eyes.

Treatment:

  • Conventional medicine uses antibiotic ointments or eye drops to treat conjunctivitis. But nature offers another surprising alternative – a freshly sliced tomato. Freshly cut tomato slice liquid contains lectin, which binds and kills staphylococcal bacteria. The mild acidity of tomatoes is similar to the acidity of the eye liquid itself. Squeezing fresh tomato slice juice on a gauze pad and applying it to the sick eye also offers great relief.
  • Although the lectins found in tomato are toxic to many people’s digestive systems, causing a variety of ailments, they can be extremely beneficial when used outside to treat the disease.
  • Of course if you are hit very badly by the disease, no time should be lost and it is advisable to follow the doctor’s prescription and start your prescribed treatment: antibiotic ointments and eye drops, etc. (NB! Care should be taken to ensure that prescribed eye drops or other ointments do not cause allergic reactions that interfere with the healing of the disease and may make it chronic).
  • Protect your eyes with sunglasses or goggles from any kind of wind;
  • Do not go to the sauna or other hot places during illness, etc.
  • Make sure there is sufficient humidity in your office, in the living room and in the bedroom. Signs of low humidity are persistent thirst, dry mouth, dry skin, discomfort in the throat, inflammation of the eyes, cracked lips, increased asthma symptoms, nosebleeds and drowsiness. At a temperature of 16 to 20 °C, humidity in the range of 40 to 60% is suitable.
  • If possible, visit a chiropractor who will adjust your cervical vertebrae. The link C3 in cervical vertebrae controls the function of the facial nerves and eyes by the nerves hidden in the spinal cord. When the vertebrae discs are pressed together, the nerves are disrupted. Headaches, numbness in the back of the ear, conjunctivitis, eye diseases that can even lead to blindness are associated because of the compression of the particular nerve.

Nutrition suggestions:

  • If possible, support your body by trying to avoid foods that do not suit for you (according to your blood type). It is often the case that if you remove foods that are not suitable for you from your menu, your body will initiate the healing process itself. You may be surprised at how fast your body reacts and starts to heal when you no longer “poison” it with the wrong food.
  • Avoid foods that create “heat” in your body. Avoid spicy foods, meat and fried foods, alcohol. Eat cooked or raw foods (fresh vegetable salads, fruits, etc.) during the healing process.
  • Drink peppermint tea or other green tea to help cool the “heat” and “fire” in your body.
  • Use Vitamin B2.
