Acute cystitis
Symptoms:
- fever;
- thirst;
- frequent urination;
- dark urine;
- frequent urge to urinate;
- burning feeling when urinating;
- cloudy urine;
- blood in urine;
Causes:
- decreased immunity;
- bacterial infection;
- moisture and heat in the bladder;
- cold and humidity which has turned into heat in body;
Treatment:
- reduce heat and humidity in body;
- remove moisture and heat from the bladder;
- use suitable herbs;
- once inflammation has come a long way, antibiotics may need to be considered;
Nutrition suggestions:
- Avoid hot foods, spices, alcoholic beverages, and foods that cause moisture and heat: excessive sweets, fatty and oily foods, junk food like potato chips, French fries and sweet drinks.
- Use heat-cooling and moisture-reducing foods: adzuki, cucumber, monocot sprouts, radish, tomato, celery, dandelion, job’s tears and plantago leaves;
