Acute cystitis

Symptoms:

  • fever;
  • thirst;
  • frequent urination;
  • dark urine;
  • frequent urge to urinate;
  • burning feeling when urinating;
  • cloudy urine;
  • blood in urine;

Causes:

  • decreased immunity;
  • bacterial infection;
  • moisture and heat in the bladder;
  • cold and humidity which has turned into heat in body;

Treatment:

  • reduce heat and humidity in body;
  • remove moisture and heat from the bladder;
  • use suitable herbs;
  • once inflammation has come a long way, antibiotics may need to be considered;

Nutrition suggestions:

  • Avoid hot foods, spices, alcoholic beverages, and foods that cause moisture and heat: excessive sweets, fatty and oily foods, junk food like potato chips, French fries and sweet drinks.
  • Use heat-cooling and moisture-reducing foods: adzuki, cucumber, monocot sprouts, radish, tomato, celery, dandelion, job’s tears and plantago leaves;
