Tiredness

Symptoms:

  • tiredness;

Causes:

  • Body overall weakness, fatigue and exhaustion are the most common problems in nowadays modern society. This is mainly due to dietary habits – eating cold food by temperatures, eating too much raw food and dairy products which causes pancreas (spleen) low energy.
  • Another common cause is emotional – long-term mental tension and worry that deplete the spleen’s qi and yang.
  • The third cause is chronic diseases that weaken the qi of both the kidneys and the spleen.

Treatment:

  • Strengthen and warm the qi and yang of the spleen;
  • If fatigue is due to weakness of the spleen yang, energy drinks and other stimulants will not help. As long as the qi and yang of the spleen are weak, the body does not produce enough energy and fatigue persists. Diet and lifestyle changes are very important from the point of view of treatment – worrying, excessive mental work and stress nullify any positive treatment result.
  • Avoid all foods that are cold and chilling by character and temperature: ice drinks, raw food, salads and fruits, tomatoes, cucumbers, tropical fruits, watermelon, melon, pineapple, kiwi, banana.
  • Dairy products are also not suitable – milk, cottage cheese, cheese, yoghurt, etc.
  • Green tea, mint tea, mineral water, juices (orange and tomato juice) and products with refined sugar are not recommended.
  • Use hot and warm foods by character.

Nutrition suggestions:

Salmon and trout are suitable for fish, sheep, chicken and beef for meat (especially good as a broth).

Fruits are suitable for weakness of the spleen yang: cherries and worries, apricots and peaches, plums, dates, figs, red grapes.

Dried fruits are especially suitable, use raisins, figs, dates, apricots.

Of the vegetables (definitely in processed form – steamed, boiled or stir-fried) you could use carrots, patato, pumpkin, cabbage, fennel seeds.

Drinks that strengthen the sponge yang: fennel tea, ginger tea, spice tea (cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, etc.), licorice tea, red grape juice.

Suitable cereals are millet, oats, rice, buckwheat, polenta, job’s tears.

The spices that warm the spleen yang are pepper, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, vanilla, star anise, fennel.

Among nuts and seeds use cedar seeds, pistachios, hazelnuts, coconuts and sesame seeds.

Suitable sweeteners are honey, maple syrup and unrefined cane sugar.
